Individual Therapy

There is nothing too big or too small to bring to therapy - if it's important to you then it's worth talking about. Some of the common areas I can support you in include anxiety, depression, addiction, grief, stress and it's impact on the body, and the complexities involving relationships. We can also address short term challenges such as conflicts at work or with friends/family, or any other aspect of life which you'd like to explore.

Couple's Therapy

Relationships aren't always easy but they are a fundamental part of what makes us human. Sessions provide a space for each partner to share their experience, to listen and to be heard. Some of the areas of focus include addressing conflict, improving communication, and exploring the emotional state of each partner in order to facilitate safe conversations.

Functional Breathwork

Functional Breathwork is a way of using the breath to balance the nervous system and restore the body to a state of homeostasis. Our emotions are a reflection of the state of our nervous system. When we learn how to influence our nervous system we directly impact our emotional state, as well as experiences of anxiety, stress, pain, fatigue, dizziness, headaches, brain fog, difficulties with sleep and many other conditions.

Therapeutic Breathwork

Therapeutic breathwork is a guided breath work session tailored to meet your individual needs. Our body stores our memories, and our nervous system is home our unconscious defence and survival mechanisms. Often we can feel stuck in an emotional state, including feelings of numbness and disconnection. The breath is bridge between mind and body and it controls the nervous system. Guided breathwork is a way to access deeper states within the body, including states of increased calm, energy or emotional processing.

My Approach

I don't believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy. We each bring our own unique histories, personalities and goals to the table. I use a combination of relational talk therapy and breath regulation practices to address both mind and body. Many of us feel that we are 'living in our heads' and it's important to address the thoughts and beliefs (both conscious and unconscious) that we hold about ourselves, others and the way the world works. These beliefs are what form our experience.

But our thoughts and beliefs are driven by the state of our bodies. When someone says 'I'm feeling anxious' or 'I'm feeling stressed' they are often describing the state of their nervous system. Developing tools to influence the nervous system is an important step in gaining a sense of control over our emotions and our thoughts.

Sessions are collaborative. Together we will determine the right course of therapy for you. I will listen to your needs and tailor an approach to help you reach your goals.

More about Functional Breathwork

A functional Breathwork session addresses day-to-day, automatic patterns of breathing. There is not a part of our body that our breath doesn't influence, and the way we breathe plays a pivotal role in our mental, emotional and physical health. Sessions address your breathing patterns, breathing mechanics and the effects of breathing on your body's physiology. The goal is to build awareness around your breath and to develop more optimal breathing habits to improve emotional, mental and physical health.
